Yesterday
afternoon we arrived at Vancouver airport after about 12 hours of traveling. We
took a taxi straight to the hotel, but although we were all really tired as a result of the time
difference, we couldn’t do anything but freshen up before we went out for
dinner. We went to this amazing restaurant some friends of mine had told me
about months ago. We had a reservation, because we’ve heard it’s quite a popular
place. My friends’ recommendation was great. The mussels I had was the best
I’ve had in my whole life! So if you ever go to Vancouver, you have to go to
the West Restaurant + Bar and order that.
On our
way back to the hotel we stopped at this tourist information center we passed
by. We got some really valuable information about all kinds of things. Did you
for instance know that the Canadians eat an average of 190 eggs per year? Haha, a random fact.
Anyway,
we got moving on and (fortunately) I stumbled into a guy named Jack Smith. He
repeatedly said he was sorry, even though it obviously was my fault. He was really
nice and helpful, and when we told him about our plans in Canada, he was glad
to help. He said he was a tourist guide. So now we are going to Whistler,
Victoria, and then Montreal.
